How Can Degenerative Arthritis In The Neck Be Treated?

I recently had an MRI of my neck because I had pain behind the ear, numbness, tingling down my neck and around the ear. I have been told the diagnosis is degenerative arthrites. My doctor will be referring me to an orthopedic specialist. My question is: what is the treatment? What can I do now to get relief? I am 78 years old. Active. No other symptoms of arthritis.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

We can manage conservatively with exercises and analgesics for pain relief. In severe cases, steroid injection to the spine may be required.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
