How Can Date Of Conception Be Calculated?

Hello. I have PCOS however my period has always been REGULAR. I have the physical symptoms and my mother had it as well. I just found out that I was pregnant as my period was a day late. My concern is trying to pinpoint what day I got pregnant. I had sex on 9/10 and got my period on 9/12 which was on schedule. The first day of my last period was 9/12. Can I get pregnant 2 days before my period? Can you pinpoint what day I got pregnant? Thank you, Charlie

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Ovulation and conception happen usually 14 days before the date of the next (expected) period.

In a 28 day cycle, this would be roughly from day 12-16 if the 1st day of the last period is counted as Day 1 of the month.

It would be unusual to conceive right before the expected period, but it has happened.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Bonnie Berger-Durnbaugh, General & Family Physician
