How Can Cracked Skin On The Thumb Be Treated?

Hi. Am a nurse and am having persistent problem with exzema on both thumbs. No change in any soaps etc. peeling and cracking over entire thumb. Saw derm. Have been on course of clobetasol with no improvement after 1 month. Moisturize constantly with a demo and other aloe and Shea bases. Any suggestions. I’m so tired of this. Thx. Jan

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
In my opinion, you should try mometasone cream.
Mometasone is newer and stronger topical steroid cream as compare to clobetasol.
Along with mometasone, oral combination of montelukast and fexofenadine (anti allergic and antihistamine) will also be helpful.
Oral corticosteroid (prednisone) is also beneficial.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
