How Can Constipation, Black Or Brown Stool And Intermittent Blood In Stool Be Treated?

Hello. I m a 18y male.Thankyou for seeing my question. I have constipation but don t know of what level or seriousness. The stools are often in black or brown colour. They are in clusters. Recently i found bright red colour blood with the faeces. I have no idea what is happening. I want a rough idea/possibilities of what is the reason. Im scared of possible high risks.

Hello,

With the provided details it seems like you are having GI bleed. I would suggest you to monitor your hemoglobin level and consider for immediate medical attention if you feel dizzy or have larger amount of bleeding per rectum. Kindly consider for endoscopic examination for diagnosis and to rule out the causes such as inflammatory bowel disease.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Sajal Singh, General & Family Physician
