How Can Constant Pain In The Lower Back And Legs Be Treated?

I got hit by a car years ago and received a hairline fracture at L5/S1. I had sereral procedures nerve blocking etc. Anyway now I am 63 yrs old and in constant pain lower back and legs. I was on 80mg OxyContin but I came off them for fear of getting addicted I recently trialed 10mg Physeptone 1tab twixe a day for 5days and they worked great. I was told on long term low dose it was hhighly unlikely I would become addicted. I have been in heaps of pain over the last 3days and can barely move I have to use a rollaway walker and am on a Disability pension I am on the waiting list for the pain clinic but it is quite lengthy. I have all documents to support what I have just said. My question is which doctor can I see in western sydney that can prescribe the medication or do I have to go on some kind of program?? I do not Doctor Shop and nor do I or have I ttouched illegal drugs. Physeptone is a type of Methadone usually used to manage a drug addiction. I need it to help manage my constant pain and to help restore my quality of life. I fear that without this help I will be in a wheelchair sooner than later. I would like to be able to get an appointment today. My alternative is to try am obtain them by other means because I can t bare it much longer.Nothing else seems to be working anymore not even the cortizone Iinjections

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

You can consult an orthopedician and get evaluated. As of now, you can take analgesics like Acetaminophen or Tramadol for pain relief.

You might require an MRI scan for further assessment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
