How Can Cold In A Toddler Be Treated?

My son is 3 years old. his temperature is 98 point 8 he is having high cold .my doctor has prescribed Sinarest syrup 5 ml thrice a day . his body weight is 13.5 kgs. can I give him the prescribed syrup though he has no fever ?waiting for your early reply
