How Can Chronic Sinusitis Along With Sore Throat Be Treated?

Taking Cefdinir for acute sinusitis - I have taken it before and it was the only thing that helped, diarrhea aside - but this time my sinuses are still draining, a lot, and it is killing my throat and choking me! Can I take, like, Advil cold and sinus to help dry this up while taking Cefdinir?

Hi there,
Welcome to healthcare magic and thanks for the question.
You could try an antihistamine like cetrizine for a week along with an intranasal steroid spray like Budesonide for 3 weeks. If these are not available over the counter you can talk to your health care provider for a prescription. Please omit all other drugs you have been taking for this problem and only try the ones i mentioned.
Further more, steam inhalation three times a day will significantly reduce sinus congestion and post nasal drip. If you are taking any nasal decongestant please stop because this usually causes rebound congestion.
Hope this is helpful. Thanks for visiting health care magic.
