How Can Chronic Insomnia And Shortness Of Breath Be Treated?

Hi, so I’ve been having a hard time sleeping at night. Whenever I lay down, my chest and throat feel heavy and hard to breath out of. This only started around a month ago after I had a panic attack about taking a school mandatory test. I’m guessing this feeling in my chest has something to do with my anxiety, but I don’t understand how to get rid of it. I no longer feel anxious yet I still can barely sleep at night. That’s frustrating. This also isn’t the first time this has happened. Almost half a year ago I had to deal with this very problem. I ended up having to sleep with a himidifyer and sleeping medicine. Do you have any advice for me? Or can help me identify this problem? Thank you so much for your time!

Hello

Thank you for trusting HCM

Dear how old are you??

Since when this problem started??

Dear before label it as anxiety related you should consult your treating doctor and get evaluated for other possible causes of your problem.

Congestive heart failure, atrial fibrillation, ischemic cardiomyopathy, hypertension, Bronchitis, mitral valve prolapse, dissection of aorta, tricuspid regurgitation etc...

anxiety/panic attacks also may cause above problem for that you need Anti anxiety drugs, cognitive behavioral therapy, yoga and meditation.

Please consult your doctor he will examine for above causes and treat you accordingly.

Take care
