How Can Chronic Cough While On Effexor Be Treated?

I am couphing constantly on one Effexor tablet per day (37.5mg). I also take one baby aspirn and one generic 10mg. Crestor tablet per day for cholesterol. What to do to stop couph....there seems to be a constant tickle in the back of my throat.....it has become quite a nuisance. Thank you.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It is not related to Effexor. You can take expectorant cough syrups for symptomatic relief. Nothing much to worry and it could be a simple upper respiratory tract infection.

If symptoms persist you can consult a physician and start on antibiotics.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
