How Can Chronic Cough In An Infant Be Treated?

My son is 6 weeks old he has cough and he is unable to sleep so when i asked my doctor he didn t give any medicine and told me yo give atarax drops 5 drops for two days but 4 days are gone he still has cough so i want to know can i give atarax drops to him for cough

I can understand your concern.
Better to first search for the cause of his cough. No need to give Atarax now as you have already gave it for 4 days without any relief.
So consult neonatologist and get done clinical examination of respiratory system, chest x ray and 2d echo.
Chest x ray is needed to rule out lung infection.
2d echo is needed to rule out heart defects as coughing can be the presenting symptom.
