How can chronic cough be treated?

Hi. I ve had a cough for a little over a week and I have been piping cough drops like crazy and some times even falling asleep with them in my mouth. Now I have white patches and what looks like burns on my tongue and it s very sore. Is this because of the cough drops and if so what can I do about it?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Yes, it is likely due to the cough drops. The lesions should heal within a few days.

Treatment would involve the use of anti inflammatory pain medication along with topical meds such as chloroseptic or covonia throat gargle.
These topical meds contain antiseptic and pain medication.

Rinsing with salt water would also help as well

I hope this helps
