How Can Chronic Constipation Be Treated?

Hi, my mother is suffering from severe constipation. We got tests done at Asian institute of gastroenterolgy. Reports were fine. Doctor has given the reason that, due to high blood sugar levels constipation is high. She is using Janice s 100mg and zoryl m3 forte tablets. Please help.

Here are few things to try to help relieve constipation

-Eat high fiber diet like fruits, vegetables, oatmeal, whole wheat bread etc
-Drink plenty of fluids
-Exercise regularly like brisk walking for 30 minutes
-Avoid excessive use of coffee/ other caffeinated drinks
-Use bulk-forming laxatives like Psyllium and stool softners like Dulcolax
-Take blood sugar medications regularly and follow diabetic diet for effective control of blood sugar
