How Can Chills Along With Vomiting And Hiccups Be Treated?

My 64 year old husband has been feeling ill today while on vacation. He is experiencing chills, off and on, hiccups when he drinks anything including chicken soup broth & hot tea, and he vomited a little of last night s dinner salad. We are set to return home tomorrow on a 9 hour, 2 flights, trip. He has been taking chewable antacids. Any suggestions?

Hello,

Your husband's symptoms chill with vomiting, and hiccups indicate that he may suffer from upper gastrointestinal tract infection with gastroesophageal reflux disease. Some proton pump inhibitor like pantoprazole along with antiemetic like domperidone may be beneficial. Consultation with a gastroenterologist required for further management.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
