How Can Chicken Bone Stuck In The Esophagus Be Removed?

Swallowed a chicken bone...I think. All of a sudden I had what I thought was the corner of my nacho in my Chicken nachos and itwasalmost all the way down and poking and painful. It wouldn t go down and I was trying not to panic. I think because I could still breath and talk I was able to get through the pain and then thought maybe what I thought was the chip was the bone. Never felt pain like that! Anyway ever since I have felt like it has never quite gone down. Feels like it s in my chest. Laying down nowand when I breath deenit just feels like something is lodged. Am I hurt being paranoid or could it be stuck or just taking its slow sweet time to go down? Should I drink a lot? Eat bread? Do nothing?? Thx!!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Take an x-ray of the chest and x-ray of the erect abdomen. Check the position of chicken bone. Need a surgeon opinion.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Anusuya Ramesh
