How Can Chest Congestion Along With Cough And Fever Be Treated?
Hi -- I recently got over a bout with what I believe was the flu (have never had it before). I had severe congestion, coughing - and fever during one night of 103 but after taking acetominophen, I was back to normal the next day. My illness lasted about 10 days and I ve felt normal for the last 3-4 days -- but this afternoon, I felt the onset of the same scratchy throat (not sore) and dry cough which I initially experienced. I m nervous about a complete relapse but am not sure if I need to see a doctor yet. Your suggestions?

I understand your concern.
The relapse of the cough with scratchy throat dry cough suggest it's origine to be allergic. You need to find the allergen by observation (symptoms starting after exposure to the allergen) or allergy screening test (at allergy specialist )along wish needful blood tests.
You would then be advised specific allergy medicine along with lifestyle avoiding the exposure to allergen.This would rule out basic cause of your cough. Increasing immunity by taking healthy diet with antioxidants ( vitamin C,E&A) /regular exercises/respiratory exercises... would help in prevention of infection.after allergic trigger.
