Hello,

As per your query you have symptoms of chapped lips which are due to the removal of the top moist layer of lips and could be due to dehydration, stress.

Need not to worry. I would suggest you to not to pick your lips and do not wet it with saliva as it will remove the natural moist layer. Drink plenty of water and take fresh fruits and vegetables in your diet. Aloe vera gel is also very effective. Apply petroleum jelly for moisture and apply sunscreen with SPF 50 and containing zinc oxide.

If condition persists or doesn't improve in 10 days, then consult a dermatologist and start treatment accordingly due to the underlying systemic condition.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Harry Maheshwari
