How Can Bronchitis Be Treated?

I was diagnosed with a mild bronchial infection after getting over a sinus infection. There is no residual nasal drip or congestion, just a painful, dry cough. The doctor gave me a shot to help sleep that night, which I assume is a steroid, and then prescribed a z pack. I just finished the entire z pack as prescribed, but have found the cough to be just as harsh and persistent. I have taken some OTC Cepacol to make the coughing manageable so that I can work. Do I just need to give the antibiotic more time, or is there anything else I should do?
