Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
The new born baby's weight reduces after birth for a few days, then it increases to the birth weight by about 10 days.
Then in the first 3 months baby should gain an average of 140 to 210 grams (5 to 7½ ounces) per week. During 3 to 6 months period, average weight gain of the baby slows down to 105 to 147 grams (4 to 5 ounces) per week. By 6 to 12 months average weight growth is 70 to 91 grams (2½ to 3 ounces) per week.
Usually by 4 to 5 months baby's weight should be double that of its birth weight. So if your baby is growing in this fashion there is no need to worry. The current formula milk you are using is good enough. Just follow the weight growth. There is no need to worry as if feeds are adequate growth will be good.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
