How Can Body Tremors At Night Be Treated?

Hello....Almost nightly I have night tremors and/or shakes that prevent me from going to sleep. More often than not they wake my wife and prevent her from getting a complete nights rest...... I don t know they are occurring. Oftentimes it even seems like I may be levitating and fall back onto the bed and even bounce. I have addressed this problem with my Dr and have used clonazepam with no results. I have undergone several sleep apnea tests also but have not been diagnosed with apnea or COPD. Last Feb I passed out, had a pacemaker inserted, and undergone 2 ablation surgeries (cryro and thermal) for afib and low heart rate. I would like your opinion if possible as this needs to be addressed and I don t know where to turn. Thank You

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

So far as symptoms narrated here, it definitely indicates psychological disorder with stress or anxiety.

As per my clinical experience, there is need of detailed counselling with supportive medications rather than just prescription of a sedative tablet.

I would like to assist further at anytime.

Regards.
