How Can Bilateral Pneumonia Be Treated?

My mother ha bilateral pneumonia, it was asymptomatic. When I saw that he was hyperventilating I calle the paramedics and was taken to the nearest ER. when I got there, the said she coded. They did CT san and didn t ee anything but MRI says no brain activity. Occipital Ischemia they said. They were pushing hard to pull the plug but I refused and transferred her to a different facility. Neuro said anoxic encephalophathy. She has little response. She winks her eyes . I don t know what to believe anymore. Please advise.

I am sorry for your mom. It looks to me that cerebral ischemia occurred due to hyperventilation. The disadvantage of hyperventilation is that vasoconstriction can occur to the extent so as to cause Cerebral Ischemia or Anoxic Encephalopathy. CI or AE is a condition when the brain stops getting a steady supply of oxygenated blood or there occurs a deprivation of oxygen resulting in loss of function of the brain tissue.
Get your mother treated and investigated, the more the time lapse the more will be the brain tissue damage and worsening of complications. It may take time but she will improve as the blood clots are removed and blood circulation restored to normal. It can be treated with medications but she may require surgical interference if she does not respond to medications. Careful management is required. Get her treated for pneumonia also.
