How Can Atrial Fibrillation Be Treated?

Can I reverse my atrial fibrillation? It was discovered 6 months ago during a colonoscopy. I am female, 67 years old, trying to lose at least 75 pounds, started on Warfarin, 5mg, just now and my blood pressure averages 110 over 65 to 70. I happen to have the mindset that everything is reversible/curable. My weight is really bad and I know it is not helping anything. I walk every day and am going to start increasing the distance.

Hi, I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.

There are several ways to treat atrial fibrilation. In first, case, medications are used. Martefrin will just lead to blood thinning and prevent thrombotic complication which may occur in FA. But it will not affect heart rythm. on the other side, medicines such as amiodarin or beta blockers may cause fibrilation reversal but these are used only in symptomatic AF. Last, cardiversion can be done in severe cases or implantation of cardioverter.
In cases where no symptoms are present, there is no need for any treatment.
Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.

Wishing you good health.
