How Can Arrhythmia Be Treated?

I have had arrhythmia for years but never noticed it. It showed up in different tests for the heart. Tonight after walking two miles I had a very high pulse rate over 100. I took an asprin and my monitor showed a few minutes later BP 108/74 and a pulse rate of 59. I have never experienced this before. I just had a heart checkup one week ago and an angiogram and everything was OK. Suggestions,

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

1. Immediately after exercise, the heart rate will be high for everyone, whether it is someone who has arrhythmia or someone who is normal. It is a normal phenomenon.
2. Second, it could be a response to arrhythmia. And a drop of 100 to 59 is a significant drop if the response to exercise is ruled out. Considering you have been previously diagnosed with arrhythmia, I would suggest uploading the report of Holter Test- Angiogram is likely to be normal. Let me know the report of Holter test. A medication can be suggested as per report which will help describe the type of arrhythmia.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
