Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had a biopsy that showed a lump that s 2 cm approx and it is infectious. Now I m just being told to take antibiotics but I ve also had a root canal recently which I have only had a few cavities in my lifetime and my dentist says it was really infected and came up quickly but the antibiotics that I took for that didn t make the infection go away. anything else I should ask
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. Sometimes infection does not subside completely when treated with antibiotics. In such cases, the site of infection needs to be explored and drained. Also, culture and sensitivity of the pus or infected material swab needs to be done from the infected site to choose appropriate antibiotics. Kindly get the above things done on consulting suitable doctor to overcome the problem. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
