How Can An Infected Brown Recluse Bite Be Treated?
Hi, My name is Tammy Horn. I live in Oklahoma. I think I may have been bitten by a brown recluse. my right inner forearm has a blister that is red around the edges. It is very itchy and is draining clear liquid. It started off a few days ago like a little pimple looking bump. It is now larger and very itchy and burning. Not painful, Just irritating and I do not feel ill.
As per your complain it looks like the site of bite has been infected leading to a larger bump along with itching and burning..
Itching is also due to effect of the toxic chemical that is left under the skin by the spider or any other organism that might have bitten you..
I would therefore suggest you to first of all clean the area with an antiseptic solution followed by application of antiseptic ointment over it.. You can also add a steroid ointment to reduce itching and soreness.. Take anti-inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen and anti-allergics like Levocetrizine.. Do cool compresses over the area.. Avoid scratching the area as it can further get irritated, inflamed and worsen..
In case if it does not show signs of improvement in 3-4 days consult a Physician and get evaluated..
Hope this helps..
Regards.
