How Can Adult Onset Scoliosis And Its Associated Pain Be Treated Non-surgically?
What do you know about adult onset scoliosis? And the pain that comes w/scoliosis....have been to three surgeons and they all told me I DO NOT want the surgery....a rod all the way down the spine. I have a 55 degree curve....I have been getting spine shots, land PT for years and now water PT for six months. 65 y/o female
The pain in scoliosis is caused by muscle stiffness and nerve compression. The available non surgical treatments are- -Over the counter pain killers lie Acetaminophen or Ibuprofen -Exercises to strengthen core muscles of abdomen and back and to increase flexibility -Braces, recommended for short duration, as long duration use may weaken core muscles -Epidurals or Never block injections
