How Can Acid Reflux Be Treated?

what is the fastest way to re-alkaine your gut? I am taking a probiotic, cut out sugar, gluten and dairy and have added tumeric supplement as well as drinking warm water and lemon in the morning. Need to make this happen right away as I am suffering from acid reflux.

Hi,

As per your complaint, acid reflux leads to regurgitation of acid and food particles from stomach to food pipe and throat. It leads to excess mucus formation and also coughing. I would suggest you consult a Gastroenterologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like upper GI endoscopy can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly.

You can be advised to take Proton Pump Inhibitors like Omeprazole or Pantoprazole. Take antacids like Milk of magnesia.

Avoid spicy food and drink plenty of water. Always take walk after meals and take your dinner at least 2 hours before sleep. You should sleep with head slightly raised as compared to feet.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Honey Arora,
