General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello there I have read through your question and I can understand your concern. Acid reflux can be managed by following the following instructions. 1. Avoid oily and spicy food 2. Avoid eating anything two hours before going to sleep. 3. Restrict caffeine containing drinks and sugar as it increases acid production 4. Drink lots of water atleast 3-4 litres in a day. 5. Raise the head end by atleast 6 inches while sleeping. 6. Take a proton pump inhibitor like omeprazole on empty stomach for a few weeks. 7. Take syrup sucralfate 10 ml after meals twice daily. If you are not relieved in a few weeks get an USG abdomen done. I hope I was able to help. If you have any further questions please feel free to write. Thank you for choosing healthcare magic.
