How Can Abdominal Bloating While Suffering From Diverticulitis Be Treated?

Hi: I am recovering from diverticulitis. Day 14 of meds. No pain, less bloating and swelling in abdomen, when I eat anything... my Colon/GI track gurggles or it feels like rumbling up the right under ribs and down left. I am taking augmentin 875MG 2xa day. No fever. Gassy. What is going on? What should I do? Eating about 600-700 calories a day. Soft, digestible foods. Soft stools or diarrhea - augmentin can cause that. I started a strong probiotic too.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

As a first line management, you can try antacids like Pantoprazole or Omeprazole for symptomatic relief.

If symptoms persist better to consult a gastroenterologist and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
