How Can A Wrist Bite Causing Swelling Be Treated?

Hi, I was bitten by a deer tick today on my wrist. I removed it, and i am not sure if I got the head too...the skin where i was bitten swelled up and it looks like that classic bulls eye that all the websites talk about. But, in reading about Lyme disease it says the bulls eye doesnt appear for 3 days..what does it mean since it appeared immediately? What should i Do now?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello
Thank You for contacting HCM.

This could be normal allergic response from the insect bite.It takes few days for it to recover. Meanwhile allergy manifests as itching & swelling. If i were your treating doctor then i would have given levocetirizine 10mg one at night for 5 days.

Report to hospital if:
> Condition remain same after 2-3 days
> Any unusual symptom appears
> Condition deteriorates.
> There is difficulty in breathing.

Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow
up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us.
Wishing you good health.
