Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a torn rotator cuff and am trying to avoid surgery. I can manage for a while but since I am 76 yrs. old my orthopedic surgeon is unsure of results. He mentioned ultimately a shoulder replacement somewhere down the road. I can t find any estimates of cost - or any relation to repair vs replacement.
Since you are 76 years old...I would recommend you to go for surgery. Because at this age the healing mechanism, of body goes down...alsl calcium levels magnesium levels Vitamin D levels etc...all are low on the health graph...so the healing process in very slow usually.
