How Can A Talofibular Ligament Injury Be Treated?

Hello, my son has sustained a full thickness tear of the ATFL and a partial tear of the CFL. We have an appointment with an orthopaedic surgeon tomorrow but I was just wondering what his treatment would be. Will he require surgery or just immobilisation with a cast?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Generally the symptoms will settle with conservative measures like immobilization and cast. If symptoms persists, surgical correction might be required.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
