How Can A Surgical Wound Be Treated?

My husband had foot surgery a couple of weeks ago. We want to the doctor Tuesday and had the stitches removed. The was one hole that had not healed and was draining. They told us to keep changing the bandages until it stops draining. This evening when I changed it, the was a red streak around the whole. No swelling, no fever. I planned on calling the doctors office in the morning. Do we need to go to the ER now or will it be ok to wait till the office opens?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Call the doctor's office and talk to the doctor on call. He needs to see pretty soon. If there is not a doctor on call for the practice, then take him to an emergency.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Kathy Robinson
