How Can A Scab On The Upper Lip Be Treated?

I used to have a little bubble filled with a clear fluid on the bottom of my top lip after I popped it became red, made my lip swell, and became hard and crusty. It really hurts and it hurts worse if I touch it with my finger or my tongue. Is there anything I could do to stop it from hurting? And if you know if there is a problem like lip cancer or anything else?

Hi..
Thanks for the query..

As per the appearance it looks like a cold sore of it was on outer lip and could be a Mucous cyst or Mucocele if it was on inner side of lip..

But now it looks like due to popping it, there is bacterial infection leading to redness and pain..

So my suggestion is to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated..

You can be advised to apply antiseptic ointment line Neomycin over it..
If there is continuous pain you can take Ibuprofen..
Do cool compresses over it..
In case if infection is progressive you can be advised a short course of antibiotics over it to relieve the symptoms faster..

You should also avoid touching it again and again to avoid spread of infection and also keep the area dry and clean..

Hope this helps..

Regards..
