General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Conditions like venous or arterial ulcer have to be ruled out. Consult a general surgeon and get evaluated. Avascular Doppler is required to rule out varicose vein or peripheral vascular disease as both of them can cause non-healing ulcer.

A biopsy from the ulcer edge also be useful. If there is signs of infection, antibiotics must be started after doing a culture and sensitivity.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
