How Can A Pea Size Bump On The Cheekbone Be Treated?
My husband is 66 and for two weeks he has had what he believes is a pimple the size of a pea on his cheekbone about an inch below his lower eyelid and a half-inch from the crease in his nose. It rarely has a head on it and very little, if any pus has come out of it. He has been using over the counter acne treatment, but it has not been working to remove or treat the unsightly pimple . Is there any homemade remedy that can be used on it?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
As per your case history your husband is having a furuncle, my treatment advice is -
1. Don't squeeze the lesion as it may worsen the condition.
2. Apply a mild antibiotic cream like Fusiderm cream on it.
3. Take a NSAID like Ibuprofen.
4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics like Levofloxacin and Azithromycin taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
