How Can A Lump Like Feeling In The Throat Be Treated?

Within the last seven days, I ve developed what feels like a kink, for lack of better words, in my throat. Internally, it feels like there is lump on the left side of my neck in the front and when I cough or swallow, it is painful if my head is tilted down. I have to tilt my head up to avoid the pain associated with it.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Your having globus sensation in the throat may be due to granular pharygitis or tonscillitis stone or acid reflux or post nasal drip etc. Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. Avoid cool drinks and freeze water. Use water vapor inhalation and salt water gargling thrice a day for five days. If symptoms not improved please consult your ENT specialist he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
