How Can A Hiatal Hernia Be Treated?

I have a hiatal hernia - have had it for years - recently had some changes in my meds which caused severe abdominal pain. Doctor has said not to make pill changes. That was on Thursday. Went to hospital at 9pm with chest pains on Thursday. Discharged after 4 hours because not a cardiac case. Friday - relatively quiet. This evening - stomach pain is severe. What do I do to make it to Tuesday when doctors return to work?

I think you should go the ER soon and get some lab work. I don’t feel that the pain maybe related to medication change. With any hernias one should always keep in my mind of two complications-strangulation and obstruction. Both may present with unremitting abdominal pain (chest pain in the case of hiatal hernia). If any of these is the case, immediate surgery is needed as treatment. I hope I have answered your questions. Please let me know if you need any further help.
