Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a hematoma on my lumba spine, due to a difficult epidural injection for back pain. It has been infected twice and I am taking antibiotics and anti inflammatories to bring it down. I and due to fly on 2nd of January, 2/3hr flight there and 2/3hr flight back on the 5th. Will be possible to fly or will it cause me more pain?
I am sorry for the infected hematoma you are going through.
When infected, the hematoma becomes more difficult to treat.
You can fly as scheduled, you might experience a bit of pressure due to changes on air pressure. The pain could be tightening. You can take extra pain killers during the flight time. Discuss this with your caring doctor.
All the best.
