Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a large hematoma on my hip from a hard fall on pavement. The bleeding beneath the skin surface initially spread all over my thigh, but is changing colors and clearing up. The hematoma bump on the thigh bone is 1.5 inch in diameter. It is no longer hot, but continues to be painful. How shall I treat it?
hello, The initial firm texture of the blood clot gradually becomes more spongy and soft as the body breaks down the blood clot, and the shape changes as the fluid drains away and the hematoma will flatten.treatment is rest, ice, compression, elevation (RICE) of the part.if pain is unbearable you can use some pain killers.
