Hello doctor I am a 20 year old male. Over a month ago i developed a pimple like bump near my anus. It wasn t painful at first so i ignored it. But it kept growing and growing as the days went. One morning i started to have pain in the area and soon discovered it had grown in size overnight to become a big lump. The pain was mild at first but it soon became painful to sit and today the the lump started to leak puss. And the pain has worsened ever since. I am starting to get worried now but i am to nervous to consult my local doctor. So i am consulting here to find a better alternative or any guidelines i can get to make the lump go away.
What you are having is in all probability an infected external hemorrhoid. It initially starts as a small collection of blood at the anal verge, especially while straining while passing stools.
Over a period of time this can get bigger, and as in your case get infected. This swelling will formally have to be excised to let out the pus, under anesthesia.
After that, a short course of antibiotics, dressings, and stool softeners, if required, would be required to resolve the infection and heal the perianal ulcer. You can consult a General surgeon for examination and treatment.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Ajit Kumar Varma
