How Can A Dog Bite Be Treated?

Hello. I was bitten by a dog in Vietnam and have just received Abhayrab. Prior to travelling i had my Rabipur vaccinations. I was told i would need a booster shot if i was bitten, but the Vietnamese doctor has scheduled me for five shots of Abhayrab. Is this the right course of action

Some advices that I can give to you are :
-Place a clean towel over the injury to stop any bleeding.
-Try to keep the injured area elevated.
-Wash the bite carefully with soap and water.
-Apply a sterile bandage to the wound.
-Apply antibiotic ointment to the injury every day to prevent infection.
