How Can A Burn Wound On The Right Hand Be Treated?

Hi, I recently (just yesterday) got a superficial 2nd degree burn in my right hand. The blisters were clear for a good amount of time, but they recently started looking a yellowish color. I fell asleep around 12:30 am EST, and woke up 3:10. Some of blisters seem to look bigger now. I have two questions. Is the yellowish liquid a sign of early infection? Is it normal for the blisters to grow, or is this bad and should I get it checked out if so?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Yes, you are right. You should go to the Emergency room and get it checked immediately.

Yellowish fluid in blisters with increasing size of blisters is more suggestive of infection. So, better not to wait at home as you will need a higher antibiotic.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Kaushal Bhavsar
