How Can A Burn Wound On The Leg Be Treated?

My son Devin has a 1st and 2nd degree burn on his leg from work. The Dr. prescribed Silvadene. Devin is allergic to sulfa drugs and had reactions. The burn is healing well but still needs a cream to put on under the bandage. Any suggestions. His Drs. office is closed today

dear user
first i would like to tell you that burn always accompaigned by bacterial infection due to loss of apart of skin or injured skin.......1st and 2nd degree burns have good prognosis and improve with treatment but you need to keep it clean and covered with non adhesive dressing and not exposed to dirt or sun ....you can use betadine as antiseptic solution and swap the burn area with it as it has antiseptic effect that kill micro organism in the burned area ...about the cream you can use silver sulfadiazine cream will have great effect with that.......as silver sulfadiazine considered effective topical antibiotic especially with burn.........and dont forget to cover it with sterile dressing and keep follow up.........wish you and your son healthy life
