How Can A MAC Infection Be Treated?

I have mac but because I am doing so well my doctor doesn t want to treat it as I also have sudenomis, and bronchechis. I have had mac before after 20 yrs it has returned. I had to take 7 pills a day,is there a less formula today as I do not want to take that many pills.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Yes, now a days newer treatment regimen is available for MAC (mycobacterium Avium complex).
This regimen consists of
1. Clarithomycin
2. Rifampicin
3. Ethambutol.
These drugs should be taken for 6-8 months.
Then repeat culture should be done. If culture is negative then treatment should be stopped. But if culture is positive then go for surgical removal of infected part of lung (permanent solution).
