Hi -

I'm worried of HIV transmition in case anyone of them are HIV positive. should I do the test? specially I am currently having cold/flu with a bit of fever but may be this is because I have moved to a very cold whether in the past few days.
Thanks

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

With protected intercourse HIV won't transmit. HIV transmission through blowjobs is also very rare, unless the opposite partner had extensive mucosal ulcerations with high viral load (even then it is rare).

Flu like symptoms which you are facing are unrelated to HIV infection. First go for ELISA test for HIV, definitely it will come negative. Don't worry.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Siddartha
