How Can GERD And Tooth Infection Be Treated?

As a result of takingPradaxa and Xarelto, I had internal bleeding. Though I was treated, I am still hoarse and have GERD. My teeth deteriorated. I have had a number of implants. I need to have more. Is there anything I can do to protect my teeth? I keep hearing the normal medications for GERD are not good for the gut? Would Tums alleviate the probl m? I am hoarse.

Hi..
Thanks for the query..

Yes, it is true that GERD can damage your teeth and the main problem is acid erosion of teeth that occurs due to reflux of acid from stomach to mouth..

So my advice to you is that you can protect your teeth by reducing the flow of acid to mouth and it can be done with the intake of proper doses of medicines like Pantoprazole or Omeprazole and antacids before meals..
You should take plenty of probiotics like Yogurt.
Avoid spicy and heavy meals..
Drink plenty of water..
Tums can help but if acid reflux is severe then prescription medication is a must..

Hope this helps..

Regards .
