How Can ADHD Be Diagnosed?

I believe that i have ADHD but i do not know how to tell my parents? Could you ask me a few questions you would for a ADHD test? I used to be able to force myself after multiple hours to eventually get work done but now my grades are dropping and i find it almost impossible to pay attention at home and at school.

Hi,

Regarding your concern, you should know that lack of attention is part of this disorder, but other symptoms should be present in order to confirm the diagnosis of ADHD.

In this regard, it is necessary that the person is very active and cannot perform patiently one task at a time.

Anyway, you should know that there is no special test for this disorder. For this reason, it is important to consult with a psychiatrist for a physical exam.

There are a lot of psychiatric disorders, which are associated with lack of attention, other than ADHD.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka,
