History Of Taking 3 Injections For Dog Bite With TT, Missing The Last Shot. Is This Concerning?

Hello Doctor, I m from Mumbai. My son Master Dhanraj is 8 years old, the dog has been bitten him on 10.09.2013, but he ignored that and did not informed us on the same day to me, the next day i.e. 11.09.2013 he told me abt the incident. I taken him to the local clinic and given him the injection. then on 13.09.2013 i taken him to Rajwadi Hospital, Ghatkopar. They adviced us to come for 4 injections, 1st injection plus TT on the same day, 2nd one was on 16th september, 3rd was on 20th september and the last one was on 10th october. We taken upto 20th september. but the last injection (10.10.2013) has not been taken by us becaus of my son s birthday. Afte that I got tired and postponed day by day till date i did not gone there. Is the last injection was important or otherwise it will do or if i want to take the last one is it possible to take now. I m very much confused and tensed. Will u please guide me what to do Thanks and regards Sangeeta

dear user
in case of dog bite complete schedule is corse of 5 injection given at day 0. 3 .7.14 and 28 days .
if u keep watch on dog and dog is ok after 10 days in that that case u can skip rest of 2 injection . one shoulkd ideally not do but if happen than no need to worry .

but if u dont have idea of dog atatus than all 5 injections are very much necessary to give complete immunity . that should be at regular interval .

now u should go for antibody titre to see the immunity status level .

hope this will help you
