History : My Mother Age 66 Suffered A Partial Stroke

History : My mother age 66 suffered a partial stroke Aug'15 She was put on wysolone 40 mg(20 mg twice a day) after mandatory tests on 2nd Sep'15.... Initial Symptoms were difficulty in swallowing, slur in speech(tongue movement sideways & upper restricted, double vision).... Within a week of administering the drug there were improvements.... Every 2 weeks thereafter the drug was reduced to half
Query: Last week when the drug was reduced to 10 mg(5 mg twice a day) slur in speech again resurfaced along with usual withdrawal side effects... Is this reappearing of major symptom normal...and also does that mean we need to increase the dosage again
