Hi...several weeks ago got a sinus cold, by the third

Hi...several weeks ago got a sinus cold, by the third day had a sore throat too. One week later, overnight, got aching and swelling in lower and upper gums, swelling of roof of mouth and terrible sore throat. Went to doctor and was put on antibiotics. After 5 days, still not feeling well and still had swelling of roof of mouth so doctor put me on prednisone. This did nothing. After 5 more days was put on another antibiotic. Am feeling much better but still have swelling of roof of mouth.

Hello, I have been experiencing a few symptoms for a while and wonder what might be happening. First, I am getting my third cold since Dec. 12. I was on antibiotics for a sinus infection and they ended about 8 days ago. I have been exhausted for weeks. Simply, I can take a 2-3 hour nap twice a day. I just think it is odd to have so many colds and sinus infections in one year. I chalked it up to travel, but I have only flown one time since Dec. 19th (this past weekend). I ve been thinking that my body aches were just age; knee pain, hip pain. But for years I ve suffered significant neck and shoulder pain. Turning over at night wakes me up due to the pain. So, I have always thought that my exhaustion was because I don t sleep well at night but I think that might not be the case. I m wondering if I have an allergy (food?) or a sinus issue. Thoughts?

7-8 weeks ago I had a heavy cold virus, after 2 weeks this turned to a sinus infection - very painful headache (couldn t tilt my head forward) and thick foul smelling and tasting yellow mucus from my nose. I saw my doctor and was prescribed doxycycline 100mg for 7 days (200mg first dose). This cleared the mucus but the headache persisted until the day after the antibiotics finished. However my nose and face sinuses still felt congested and hard to breathe through both nostrils and at night I could feel my sinuses slurping and moving when I turned in bed. This continued for 4 weeks and then in the fifth week I started to feel unwell again and started getting thick yellow/brown mucus down the back of my nose and into my mouth. I revisted the doctors and got another round of doxycycline 100mg for 10 days this time plus some steroid nose drops. It has been 3 days now but I have seen no improvement. Is this the usual course of treatment? I m just worried this will keep happening and I will have to take antibiotics every month. I am allergic to amoxicillin. I use a saline nasal rinse and inhale steam and use oral decongestants - nothing lets me breathe freely through my nostrils. I am female, 35 years, 5ft5 and 8&1/2 stone.

On Friday I was feeling awful so I’ve been takingMucinex, then Advil cold & sinus & Tylenol, & a pill for coughing from my MN dr. I have Fibromyalgia & Asthma & had a total knee replacement 7 wks ago. I’ve got a headache & wondering if from change of air or viral. Help!
